Adriana Hernandez, OTD, OTR/L, CDP is a certified Early Intervention Occupational Therapist dedicated to supporting children between the ages of 0-3 and their families. Adriana received her doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Midwestern University in 2022. After which she spent some time working with families and older adults diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s. She is a certified dementia practitioner and has enjoyed her time working with this population.
Adriana’s background consists of extensive experience supporting pediatric group therapy programs addressing various skills such as feeding/eating, executive functioning, gross and fine motor skills, social-emotional learning, and aquatic therapy. She has a special interest in sensory processing and integration, feeding and lactation, primitive reflexes, and social-emotional regulation.
Adriana is a mother of two boys, one of which received services through the early intervention program. It was during this life transition that she decided to return to the pediatric setting, specifically Early Intervention to serve a resource and support for families during this phase in their child’s development. Adriana believes in child-led play-based therapy with the family’s values at the forefront. Utilizing a holistic and collaborative approach, she aims to meet the families where they are to help them support their child to live a rich, full, and meaningful life full of opportunities for play and exploration.
